Hardwood Floor Sanding & Refinishing
In the Middle Ages flooring borne of wood made its first appearance. Then during the Baroque Era in France, hardwood debuted as a flooring option for the affluent members of high society with a flair for style. Back then just as today, hardwood floors needed occasional sanding and refinishing. Of course in the 1600’s this process looked vastly different than how we at South Jersey Hardwood do it today: laborers literally rubbed sand on the floors until it shone. One thing hasn’t changed between now and then, and that’s the necessity for maintenance on hardwood flooring. Floors that begin to look dull, scratched up, dinged, or dented by regular wear-and-tear can be sanded to buff out the damage and then stained and sealed with high quality materials from MinWax or DuraSeal to preserve its longevity. Some engineered hardwoods are able to be sanded and refinished; Legno Bastone’s high quality products are just one example of engineered hardwood that can be refinished. For floors that show light cosmetic wear, we additionally offer a less-expensive screen and coat option. This will refresh the look of existing stain without the hassle and cost associated with a full sand and refinish.
